I have trialed multiple strollers and have found that the best travel stroller for babies and toddlers is the city tour™ 2 stroller by baby jogger. I first started using the city tour™ 2 stroller with our 1 year old and when our second was born quickly bought the city tour™ 2 double stroller and put him in it at 8 weeks old! He did have very good neck control for an 8 week old, but recommend talking with your child’s pediatrician.

Pros to the city tour™ 2 stroller:
- COMPACT. You can fold it up and stick it underneath a table at restaurant or in the overhead bin of an airplane. Both the city tour™ 2 stroller and city tour™ 2 double stroller fit in the overhead bin on a standard airplane. Now I do feel like I have to place a disclaimer here… it depends on your airline and honestly the airline attendant. Usually, the airline attendant looks at you like you’re crazy but it’s a standard carry-on suitcase size. If it’s a full plane they’ll likely will insist that you gate check it. Traveling to Spain, our two year old was sleeping when we landed. It was so nice to have my husband grab our city tour™ 2 stroller from the overhead bin, open it up, lay her flat, and roll her off the plane still sleeping.
- LAYS FLAT. You can adjust the recline position to tailor your child’s need. It lays almost completely flat and has a leg rest for naps on the go! A must with traveling with toddlers.
- LIGHTWEIGHT. The city tour™ 2 stroller is 14lbs.
- DESIGNED for travel. Comes with a travel case to protect it when needing to gate check. Can fold it up with one hand! This is a game changer with traveling with littles (especially solo travel with littles). You can strap a child to you or hold your child’s and with the other fold up your stroller. It’s NARROW and can easily fit through store and restaurant doors.
- STORAGE. There is a small under stroller storage basket perfect for throwing diapers, snacks, water bottles or coats.
- EASE. As the kids get older they can easily get in and out of the stroller all by themselves. If you don’t want your child escaping there is a four point harness to buckle them in.
- ACCESSORIES. Sunshield canopy for sun protection. Inside pockets for the kids to place snacks, water bottles or treasures found along the way. You can purchase separately a cup holder for parents.
- WARRANTY. We have not had to use this but there is a lifetime warranty on the frame if you buy directly through the baby jogger website.
Cons to the city tour™ 2 stroller:
- The wheels are plastic (but durable!), this can make for a more bumpy ride on cobblestone roads in old European towns. However the front wheels can either lock or swivel which does provide a smoother ride. I personally would not jog with this stroller
- Child weight limit of 45lbs.
- Smaller under stroller storage basket (always big enough for us to shove a small/medium bag in).
- Harness system is a little tricky to figure out but once you get it its simple. May take grandparents a couple times learning
